I have been practicing for 10 years in the counseling field, first getting my Masters in Counseling, Specializing in School Counseling where I worked with children and adolescents in both elementary and middle school settings. I transitioned to a clinical setting working again with adolescents but this time in a residential facility where I became a fostered Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral (TF-CBT) Therapist. My latest clinical work was in a university setting for over four years. As a new mom, my interest has expanded and I am beginning to work on Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C).
The concept of Mattering is central to my philosophy as a counselor. I strive to ensure that every client knows they matter to me and that their experiences, identities, and perspectives are valued. I genuinely enjoy meeting and working with a diverse population of clients, including individuals with a wide range of presenting concerns and identities. This commitment is reflected in my clinical work through my dedication to being a lifelong learner. I remain open to expanding my understanding, challenging my own perspectives, and embracing new ways of thinking that may differ from my own.
